  • As shift leader, I learned task and time management, leadership and interpersonal communication skills. As a cashier and food handler, I learned customer service and clerical skills.

Research

Software Design Intern: Dr. Hui Han, Cedars-Sinai

Development of novel MRI Receiver/Shim coil technology
June 2018 – September 2018
  • Gained 50 hours of experience in MATLAB and machine learning algorithms
  • Applied optimization techniques to reduced coils by 58% (from 68 to 40 coils), while retaining shimming capability (<10% reduction), reducing power consumption and cost of device
  • Wrote and presented weekly technical progress reports to update team members and advisors on optimization progress

Technical Projects

Senior Design Capstone Project

Smart non-invasive EEG system for young rats
September 2017 – March 2018
  • Developed a EEG electrode cap for young rats. This system is non-invasive and modular, allowing for humane animal tests and flexibility in experimental design
  • Consulted researchers studying pediatric brain injury to identify mount constraints
  • Gained over 30 hours in CAD software experience in Fusion 360, and performed extensive research into manufacturing constraints for 3D printing techniques
  • Paper was accepted to IEEE EMBC 2018 Conference in Honolulu Hawaii
